Enjoy a Game of Chess! Nifty little java applet let's you play the ancient game of Chess right here and right now! Its not exactly the Montglane Service, but fun and challenging, all the same.
Play is simple - drag your piece to move. Illegal moves are automatically prevented - if you move a piece and it snaps back, its an illegal move. HINT: If a perfectly legal move snaps back, your King is in check. Checkmate is confirmed by *ALL* moves snapping back!
Multiple presses of the "New Game" button toggles the computer's and your colors. Castling is done by moving the King two spaces towards the rook in question. En passant works too!
Works fine with NetScape, Internet Exploder, & Safari. FireFox has issues....
